Technology is one of the ways that we keep moving forward. Inventors and engineers constantly make new things, and innovators are making them better.
Think about some of the things that have been created in the past 10 years? Facebook, iPhones, and three-dimensional printers are changing many aspects of life. Companies are still working on self-driving cars, too.
While we can debate how valuable these inventions have been, they are changing daily life for many people. Knowing this, don’t you deserve dental care that is keeping up with the advanced technology?
That’s exactly what you will get at the dentist office of Thomas J. Feder, D.D.S., P.C., in Belleville, IL.
We believe that our patients deserve the best care that we can provide. Part of that is making your dental care as comfortable as possible.
One way that we do that is by using digital X-rays in our practice.
At some point, you have probably had the experience of biting down on bite plate so a dental professional could make X-rays of your teeth.
This is not a fun experience, and if you have a sensitive gag reflex, it can be hard to get through.
With our digital X-rays, you won’t have to worry about that problem anymore. And with digital X-rays, we can see them faster and diagnose problems sooner.
Technology isn’t just about making things faster. It’s also about making things easier to handle.
One way we can do this is by making your dental care as painless as we can. The VibraJect is an example of how we do this on a daily basis.
The VibraJect transforms the experience of having and injection. Many people are afraid of needles, and part of the reason is the small prick that you feel when the needle is used to deliver the anesthetic.
The VibraJect works by creating a mild vibration in the area where you are receiving the injection. Your brain registers the vibrations instead of the injection.
As a result, you won’t feel anything. Painless dentistry really is possible.
You may be wondering what TVs have to do with advanced dentistry. Remember that your comfort is important to us as well.
Dental anxiety is a common experience for many people. One way to ease that anxiety is by taking your mind off of your dental care.
You can do that by listening to music during your cleanings and other procedure, or you can watch one of our ceiling-mounted televisions while you recline in one of our dental chairs.
Our entire staff is dedicated to providing you with the highest quality dental care that we can. This is one of the reasons your comfort is one of our priorities when you are in our office.
Service You Can Trust
Both of our doctors are living their childhood dreams of being dentists.
Dr. Feder grew up in O’Fallon, IL. He recalls that whenever someone asked what he wanted to be, he would say that he wanted to be a dentist. After graduating from Belleville Area College, he went to the St. Louis University School of Dentistry.
After spending three years in the U.S. Public Health Service (including two years with the U.S. Coast Guard), he returned to Belleville, where he has been practicing dentistry for more than 30 years.
In that time, Dr. Feder has made continuing education a priority. Why? Because you, our patients, deserve the benefit from the latest advances in dentistry.
Dr. Michael Smith grew up in a small town in Missouri before attending SIU-Edwardsville and the SIU-School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated in 2011. He is also a captain in the Dental Corps of the Illinois Army National Guard.
We take pride in providing prompt care for all our patients. We know that you and your family have a lot to do, and we make every effort to get you in and out of our office in a timely fashion.
That includes dental emergencies. Hopefully, you will never need this service, but if you, a member of your family, or a friend needs emergency dental care, we will do everything we can to see you that same day.
